Jacob Frost, Commissioning Project

Jacob and I had signed up for a program called New Music Mosaic. This program is fully online, and seeks to connect composers and performers to then work together and publish a small premiered sketch to be added to the full “mosaic.” Due to several personal events I experienced over the year (2024-2025), I had to step back from the event.

Jacob and I seemed to click in terms of vision for the piece, however! Thus, we agreed to expand on the initial idea and create a formal commissioning project. As part of New Music Mosaic, we were given a “theme” to adhere to. We were given “grief,” which was ironic as my mother had recently passed away.

We hope to capture the journey of grief through the solo work, which will be ready at the end of September 2025, entitled “Cresting.”

Premiere date TBD, more to come!
